Sean, 25, is a graduate student at the University of Missouri. He is a teaching assistant for the Columbia Missourian sports department and works with Vox Magazine through the university as well. His hobbies include attempting to play sports, drinking exceptionally unhealthy amounts of coffee, teaching his dog Wrigley complicated tricks and obsessing over Ernest Hemingway and Gary Smith — not in a creepy way, mind you.
Sean is the cofounder of a startup publication known as Fangirl the Magazine, a women’s interest gaming, comics, entertainment and fandom outlet. Fangirl earned acclaim from editors and managers at Meredith Corporation and publicity from the Missouri School of Journalism, Mizzou Women in Media, Startup Parachute, and several other publications.
Sean has professional experience at The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he worked as the Indiana and Purdue basketball and football beat writer as well as the beat guy for the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a minor league affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
Before that, he worked as an intern at places such as The Virginian-Pilot, the Indianapolis Business Journal, 247Sports.com and Inside Indiana. For more on his work, check out his LinkedIn page or this handy copy of his resume.
